HOW DO I GET TO VILLA DAFNI?
1 By plane to Athens and then a domestic flight to Kavala Airport (Megas Alexandros).
2. To Thessaloniki Airport, and then by taxi or bus to Kavala
3. With a charter flight direct to Kavala airport.

From Kavala airport to the city of Kavala it takes 40 min's by road. By flying dolphin from Kavala port to Thassos Town the journey is 40 min's.

After landing at Kavala airport you take a taxi to Keramoti and from Keramoti port the ferry boat to Thassos Town (15min from airport to Keramoti and 30min from Keramoti to Thassos town).

Nearest port to Thassos is:
Keramoti (30 min journey by car - fare from 15€-30€ one way)
Kavala port to Prinos and then 15 min's by road to Thassos Town (1 and a half hours journey – fare 20€-50€)

It is possible for a transfer to be arranged from the airport from Kavala to Thassos-Town and then to Villa Dafni.

What to Do

Go for a swim at one of the beautiful Thassos beaches. Go by bus (which are frequent and go all the way round the island) or hire a car for the day and do your own thing. If you have any queries please ask at the reception.

Enjoy the beauty of the island and explore the hills and forests of Thassos either by foot or by four wheel drive.

Go for a pony or horse ride or even donkey ride in Rachoni.

Taste the delicious Greek food and specialties and enjoy a glass of retsina in a taverna on the beach or in one of the mountain villages overlooking the sea.

Look around the shops of Thassos or visit the local market of Prinos on a Monday or Kavala on a Saturday.

Have a drink at one of the many bars of Thassos town at the old harbor and watch the fishing boats coming back from a day’s fishing trip or go to one of the nightclubs and dance the night away.

What to See

Thassos has many interesting archaeological sites including the ancient marketplace, the Acropolis, the amphitheater and remains of the ancient wall which surrounded Limenas. See the mythological island of the Sirens opposite the beach of Psili Ammos. Visit Aliki with its ancient marble quarries and early Christian churches.

Museums include the archeological museum of Limenas and the Vagis museum ( a famous Thassian sculptor who lived in New York). You can also visit monasteries and churches dating back to the 18th century including the renowned Monastery of the Archangel Michael which is situated on a cliff with a breathtaking view over the Aegean sea.

Thassos has many beautiful beaches to choose from including Golden Beach, Paradise Beach, Aliki, Psili Ammos and Pefkari. For those of you who want to explore the villages of Thassos there are many quaint and traditional villages set in the hillsides. Go to Panagia or Potamia, Theologos or Kasaviti.
